AR-15 Training - Special Event Live-Fire Training and Potluck 

Plan on arriving 15 minutes early to check in. You must attend the mandatory safety and medical briefing at 10:00am.
  • Staff: Brandon Knutson & Jeremy Robinson (instruction) and Gary Larkin (RSO)
  • VENUE:  Hayden Ranch, Arlington
  • Bring your own lunch and something for the potluck dinner

Trainees:  Equipment needs and suggestions:

  • ADTA Defensive Shooter certification
  • AR-15 style carbine or AR-15 style pistol with arm brace (other non-AR style long guns require instructor approval). Any common AR caliber is permitted including rifle calibers under .308 and all pistol calibers. 
    • 4+ magazines with support-side magazine carrier or suitable support-side pocket
    • 1 or 2-point sling (2-point preferred)
    • Iron sights and/or zero magnification capable optic or red-dot sight (LPVO optic or red dot recommended) 
    • All sighting systems are zeroed (50-yard zero recommended; if zeroing on a 25-yard range, impact should be 1” low at 25 yards)
    • Weapon Mounted Light (recommended)
    • 500 rounds carbine ammo (might be less, but not to exceed)
  • Pistol with proper strong-side belt holster
    • 2+ magazines
    • 50 rounds handgun ammo
  • Knee Pads (recommended)
  • Plate carriers are discouraged to avoid accidental safety selector manipulation on chest gear.
  • Eye protection
  • Active (electronic) hearing protection
  • Billed cap
  • Outdoor apparel suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure
  • Sunscreen
  • Folding chair
  • Bring your lunch and beverages
  • BBQ potluck begins between 4-5pm. Bring a side dish and/or something for the grill to share for the potluck dinner following the training.
