Learn to shoot with ADTA's "New Shooter 101" Training Program

Our New Shooter 101 program is designed for beginners with no previous firearms knowledge.  You are welcome even if you have limited or no experience with handguns.

Here's how it works:

  1. Attend our Beginners Workshop, which provides in-depth training for both new handgun owners and experienced shooters who want to refresh their skills. This 4-hour dry-fire training event covers all the basics of handgun safety and operation.  Click here to see our event schedule

  2. Earn your Safe Shooter Certification by completing a checklist of basic skills.  Learn the skills by attending our Dry-Fire Training Workshops and coming to our Fun Shoots.  When completed, you get your first star on your membership badge.  Click here to learn about certifications.

  3. Once certified, attend our Live-Fire Tactical Shoots in the open bays at the shooting range.  This is where you get advanced training in skills such as shooting on the move and shooting from cover.  Click here to see event videos

Already a shooter?  Get to know us by attending one of our FUN SHOOTS.

ADTA's FREE Fun Shoots give you a good reason to include more live-fire practice in your busy schedule. Membership is not required to attend. This is a great way to find out more about ADTA. Meet and be mentored by ADTA instructors, get signed off on Safe & Defensive Shooter skills, and try other guns people brought to share.
