Event Description:

Our Beginner Level New Member Workshop provides basic training for both new handgun owners and experienced shooters who want to refresh their skills. Your registration includes your 1st year of ADTA membership ($129 value), which opens the door for you to participate in our frequent Live-Fire Tactical events. This 4-hour event covers all the basics of handgun safety and operation in one session.  Includes many skills needed to get your Safe Shooter certification and participate in Live-Fire events.  Enrollment is limited so that you receive lots of personal attention.

What you will learn in this workshop:

  • How to handle a variety of real handguns safely – under the supervision of a ADTA Range Safety Officer and Instructor.
  • How to hold, aim and dry-fire a handgun.
  • How to draw from the holster.
  • How to participate in a Live-Fire shooting line.
  • Find out how to earn your ADTA “Safe Shooter” certification and get signed-off on some of the requirements.
Event includes these Safe Shooter requirements:
  • The 4 Basic Rules of Gun Safety.
  • Dealing with unsafe gun handling.

  • Naming the parts of a handgun.
  • The 12-Step Basic Dry-Fire Exercise.

  • The 5-Step Basic Holster Exercise.

Firearm Safety Protocol:

Firearm safety is of absolute importance to us. There are several rules that must be followed for everyone’s safety.

1. One of our Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will greet you and clear any handgun you have with you.

2. All handguns present must be unloaded. No attendees are allowed to have ammunition anywhere in the room. Please leave all ammunition in your vehicle or with the ADTA Range Safety Officer.

3. Handling of firearms must take place while being supervised and directed by an ADTA instructor. When not taking part in an exercise, please keep your handgun on the practice tables (or in a holster or case).

4. Come prepared for a safe event. Although created for our more advanced events, please familiarize yourself with what gear and attire is suitable by visiting Armed Defense Training Association - ADTA Shooter’s Checklist.

Refund Policy:

Should you need to cancel your registration for any reason, please shoot us an email at membership@armeddefense.org. Let us know early as our event registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable within 7 days of the event. We'll fully refund your registration fee should we be forced to cancel your class. Thank you for your understanding!

*Range Firearm Rental:

Renting a firearm from the Bellevue Gun Club requires: their "Bronze Membership" or higher; their handgun rental fee; and ammo purchased from them. All these additional fees and coordination with Bellevue Gun Club for your rental are your responsibly. If you wish to borrow a handgun from your ADTA instructor, you must contact them in advance for their borrowing requirements. At a minimum, they will require the use of factory brass-cased ammunition.
