New Shooter 101 handgun training program

What is New Shooter 101?

New Shooter 101 helps beginners learn to shoot.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Watch our free videos —
  2. Sign up with an ADTA Mentor —
  3. Complete all 12 workshops listed below.
  4. Graduate by attending an ADTA live-fire practice event.

No experience required

Our training program is designed for beginners with no previous firearms knowledge.  You are welcome even if you have never fired a gun.
  • You learn by watching videos at home, then work with an experienced ADTA Mentor to practice the moves you saw. This way you build your skills at your own pace, knowing you will be safe while learning.

  • Your Mentor will guide you through the entire program, and workshops will be arranged to fit in with your busy schedule.

  • Upon completion you'll be ready to shoot with us at an ADTA live fire practice event.

  • Program is available to ADTA yearly members as a benefit of membership.  Most workshops are held at your Mentor’s home or office.  For range sessions, you pay for range fees and ammunition for yourself and your Mentor.  Complete terms and conditions are available from your Mentor.
