Handgun Malfunctions, Reactions, and Clearing

FREE WORKSHOP—Open to ADTA members, friends, family, and the public.

Please RSVP to let us know you will be there!

VENUE:  American Legion Hall Post 127, Woodinville, WA

Event Description:

When you’re on target and press the trigger, and your gun does nothing, what do you do? Bring your semiautomatic pistol, holster, at least two magazines, and your magazine pouch for this hands-on workshop event.

Please leave your ammunition at home.

Dummy training rounds will be provided during this event in 9mm, 40, and 45 caliber. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to intentionally cause four types of stoppages (for practice!), and how to clear each one rapidly and efficiently with an imminent-defensive-need approach. These are the skills you need to know how to do quickly and automatically in a self-defense situation.

Important information:

• ADTA Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will be present to check you in at the door.

• If you normally carry a firearm, you are welcome to do so at this event. Loaded carry firearms must remain holstered -- no exceptions.

• If you bring a firearm to show to the group, or want to participate in our hands-on exercises, our Range Safety Officers will help you safely unload and clear your firearm at the door.

• Have a question about ADTA membership, events, or activities? Many ADTA members are available both before and after the presentation to help. Just look for our members wearing ADTA hats, shirts, or vests.
